April is here and the year is in full swing. Some folks' jobs are entering the busy second quarter, school is back from break and in full session, yet summer vacation plans are also forming. Your Spring cleaning of the home has yet to happen, everyday life is getting busier, and the calendar year is starting to fill up fast. It may come as very little surprise then that April is National Stress Awareness Month. So while you skillfully play the balancing act of life, it’s always important to make sure to take time for yourself in order to keep up, keep sane, and keep going. So, here are a few activities you can do in your luxury Acero Val Vista apartment home, or within the greater Gilbert area, to assist you in relieving your stress this season.
Good food = Good mood.
They say good food equals a good mood, so try switching up your snacks, meals, and overall diet when things are getting frantic. Easier said than done, however, an unhealthy diet can expedite and help to exaggerate stress within the body, so it’s important to make sure you find a way to eat right. Try checking out the Gilbert Farmers Market on any given Saturday from 8am to 12pm. Hosting over 100 vendors throughout the Spring and Summer seasons, it’s the perfect place to get fresh and local fruits, vegetables, and all kinds of delicious ingredients for more rounded and healthy meals through the week and month. Bonus: it’s an additional trip outdoors, which is another practice in helping to lessen stress.
Get Out(side):
While on the subject of heading outdoors, which has shown to reduce the negative effect of stress and pump up endorphins, spend a few minutes, a couple of hours, or even the day along the Arizona Canal Path - and discover parts of the city you may have never seen before! Take a stroll, a morning jog, or an afternoon bike ride down its paved (and unpaved at times) path that leads to a variety of commercial centers, residences, and other recreational opportunities. Whatever you choose, even 5 minutes a day can have active benefits!
Stress Sesh:
As you may know, your Acero Val Vista apartment home is ideal for creating your own oasis away from the outside world, so try really taking advantage of that! Invite a friend or loved one over for that new healthy meal and talk about what may be worrying or aggravating you. Having a network you can rely on for support can greatly improve your mental health during stressful times. Or, if that feels uncomfortable, try simply writing out the stressful thoughts. Create a space (a whole room, just a corner, or even one seat) just for you at home and enjoy a journaling session right in the comfort of your own design - just remember to make it work for yourself.
Work, work, work it out:
Of the many ways to de-stress, physical activity is always brought up - and for good reason. Virtually any form of exercise can assist in reducing stress and luckily our Acero Val Vista community is equipped with an excellent fitness center that is open 24 hours a day! No need to worry about spending additional money when you are equipped with what you need right in our own community! However, if you’re looking for something even a little easier, there are multiple at-home workouts and exercises you can perform in your living room or bedroom!
When life starts to get busy is exactly the most important time to look after yourself - so as not to get even more overwhelmed.
