Spring has officially arrived, summer is around the corner, and before that famous Arizona heat really starts to kick in, this is the perfect time to get outdoors with your favorite furry friend to spend some quality time. Grab the pup, some snacks, and head out to explore some of the great parks in the area. Below is a guide to some of the best dog-friendly parks near and around Gilbert, AZ.
Rated one of the highest in the area and only 10-minutes away from Acero Val Vista is a local favorite, Cosmo Dog Park. This 17-acre park houses separate areas for timid and active dogs, reservable ramadas, a play area, 2 dog-washing stations, and so much more! Most importantly, though, would be the lake and “dog beach”. If your pup likes the water, they are sure to really enjoy themselves here. From the dock to the obstacle course, this place is sure to get nearly every tail wagging in anticipation for your next visit!
Located at the home of AZ Ice Gilbert, Crossroads District Park hosts something for the whole family. This 92-acre area features basketball and volleyball courts; soccer, baseball, and softball fields; ramadas with grills, a shaded play area, an amphitheater, a large lake, and a large [multi-use] grassy basin area. This place is a busy local favorite and time is sure to fly by with all the different activities available for you, the pup, and the whole family.
Countryside Park (Off-Leash Area)
Another family-friendly area with plenty to do is Countryside Park. A total of 30-acres hosts a volleyball court, 2 lighted basketball courts, a baseball field, BBQ grills, a shaded playground, and some excellent walking/biking trails. More importantly, though, is the off-leash area for your favorite furry friend. The space includes separately fenced areas for timid and active dogs, park benches, and water fountains for both pups and owners to stay hydrated while getting in all that fun.
